KELOID TREATMENT

A keloid is an abnormal growth of fibrotic tissue, a benign, purely fibrotic skin tumour with a scar-like appearance that generally follows trauma or irritation and does not fade with the passage of time. To date, the only laser recognised for the treatment of keloids is the Pulsed Dye Laser Candela. The Vbeam laser uses pulsed dye laser technology to target vascular and pigmented lesions with an intense and controlled beam of laser light. The light energy is thus selectively absorbed by the blood vessels or pigmented areas of the skin, effectively treating the pathology. Most patients achieve results from the very first session, and the system is safe for all skin types.
