The engineering prerogatives of Enlighten allow the implementation of high quality treatment protocols, guaranteeing visible results from the very first session, equally effective on all phototypes and skin types, in all seasons, while maintaining maximum safety and comfort.

Tattoos are made up of pigment particles distributed throughout the dermis, which can be of various colours. The size of these particles varies from 2 nm to 400 nm, with the smaller particles grouping together to form larger particles ranging in size from 0.5 microns to 4 microns.

The selective destruction and elimination of tattoo particles depends on two factors:

1. The wavelength of the laser, which is specific to the colour of the tattoo pigment particles.

2. The duration of the laser pulse, which is optimised according to the size of the pigment particles to be eliminated.

Cutera’s Enlighten technology develops 3X of energy (600 mj) with a wavelength of 1064 and more than 1.5X of energy (300mj) with a wavelength of 532: it therefore guarantees the possibility of working on all types of amateur, professional or cosmetic tattoos (eyebrows and lips).
The classic QS nanosecond lasers cannot hit the smallest particles of pigment, which can only be achieved with the pico-second pulse that manages to eliminate the tattoo definitively in the final stages.
Enlighten Cutera is the only one that combines the short picosecond pulse (750 picoseconds) and the long pulse (2 nanoseconds); the combination of the technical peculiarities of this laser is amazing. It makes it possible to achieve high selectivity of the laser light towards the target pigments, whether natural or artificial, dark or coloured. Moreover, it allows to reduce the sessions required for tattoo removal by 60-70% compared to those required by other similar technologies, guaranteeing the highest power compared to competitors.
